I set out with the intention on this page of sticking more closely to the original subject of definitives, but this clearly not going to work as there are so many splendid 1d + 1d charity stamps to display.

All NZ stamps shared the same design until 1873, SG143. There were all the usual variations of perforation, colour, paper and watermark. Gibbons C&BE lists 42 variants; Gibbons Simplified view of the cheapest major variants are 34, 35, 110 and 132.

For the 1930 SG545 issue, the inscription changed to 'HELP PROMOTE HEALTH" and SG566 was a 1931 1+1 charity featuring a smiling boy and catalogued at 75 / 75.
