Ben bought me this for
Christmas. I think Anica (Nica) Blackburn is a minor character, but I'm only
up to page 50, so time will tell.
Annie
Blackburn
This was once my only fictional character, on the front page, with the
comment:
One sub category I have come across but not yet pursued is fictional characters
in books and films called Blackburn. I have come across half-a-dozen so far, but
you have to draw the line somewhere.
There was a character Annie Blackburn in Twin Peaks ... and here she is, as
played by Heather Graham.
In September 2001
I succumbed to a page of fictional Blackburns. I'm rather glad I did.

Stranger in His Arms by
Charlotte Douglas, April 2001
"When Officer Dylan Blackburn learned Jennifer Reid was back in town, he
wondered if she remembered the innocent kiss they'd shared as children. But
this sensual, aloof stranger who stole his heart was nothing like the girl
he remembered…She'd been an innocent witness to a horrible crime and there
was no one to turn to. Only Dylan. And she'd made him think she was someone
else."

Odessa Blackburn
Fifth Born Zelda Lockhart ISBN: 0743412656 Publisher: Atria Books Pub.
When Odessa Blackburn is three years old, she sees her
grandmother for the last time, and so begins her story as the fifth born of
eight children in a troubled family. Molested by her father, Odessa is also
the sole witness to a murder he commits. Her mother guards both secrets and
joins her husband in ostracizing their fifth born from the rest of her
siblings. As Odessa grows, so do her troubles. She ultimately separates
herself from her parents and siblings into a new reality that prompts memory
and revelation. Her choices for survival provoke an outcome that will
forever alter the carefully maintained lies of her childhood. Zelda
Lockhart's Fifth Born is lyrically written, poignant and powerful in its
exploration of how secrets can tear families apart and unravel people's
lives. Set in rural Mississippi and St. Louis, Missouri, Fifth Born is a
story of loss and redemption, as Odessa walks away from those who she
believes to be her kin to discover the meaning of family.

Secretary Paul Blackburn
The Tiger Waits by Anton Myrer
Paul Blackburn has sought the Brahmin world of privilege and wealth. He
had married into that proud East Coast tradition of elegant Cambridge
mansions, of sailing regattas and family compounds on Martha's Vineyard.
In the new Washington of the late '70s liberated Watergate hostesses
welcomed this exciting Secretary of State who had brought dash and honor
back to the Department. But Secretary Blackburn (to the consternation of
the CIA) had fallen desperately in love, for the first time in his life.
Her name is Jillian Hoyt. She is nearly half his age, a leader of the
militant protest group Sirius--and the lover of his own son, Land. Rare as
a summer idyl, Jillie hangs like a pendant between their alien
generations. It is unthinkable for Blackburn, at the pinnacle of his
career, to risk everything--the trust of the President, the fragile peace
he has forged with the new China, his responsibility to a defiant son and
wife. But Jillie has restored something he has lost in the arid,
hard-driving years; the green rush of life, the heart's eye. Threatened by
scandal, haunted by intimations of betrayal within the Administration,
Blackburn fears that the Drachenfels Flood Mission on the China border
will erupt into the ultimate international incident. He alone stands in
the way of men like Presidential Adviser Vosz, whose reckless scenarios of
power would provoke deadly consequences. At last only he can refute the
terrible charges of Peking before the great powers collide

Thorn Blackburn Ghostlight (hardback) Marion Zimmer Bradley Book 1 of M. Z.
Bradley's two-book fantasy collection. In the heady days of the 60's, people
sought solutions to mankind's troubles in ancient religions and found that
ancient wisdom had its place in the modern world. Among them were the
followers of Thorne Blackburn, all seekers of Truth. During the climatic
night of Blackburn's powerful ceremony, chaos erupted. Blackburn vanished,
and Katherine, his life-partner and mother of one of his young children, was
dead. That was 30 years ago. Now Truth Blackburn, their daughter, is still
seeking truths - truths of what happened that night, truth about the magical
powers her father claimed to wield, truth about her long-lost half-brother
and sister. Ghostlight is a powerful novel about the
fulfilment of human potential and the search for the meaning of life. Like
new. Witchlight (hardback) Marion Zimmer Bradley Book 2 of M.
Z. Bradley's two-book collection. Except for a few memories of her childhood
and of her few years as a successful trader on Wall Street, Winter
Musgrave's life seems vanished from her mind. She fears she has gone mad -
but if so, it is a peculiar sort of madness, for objects shatter when she
passes by. Doors and windows unlock and open while she sleeps. Mutilated
corpses of small animals appear on the doorstep of her isolated mountain
farmhouse, with no indication anyone human has been near. Is this paranoia
or something more? Desperate, she seeks the help at the Bidney Institute for
Psychic Research, where she encounters Truth Jourdemayne and her partner,
Dr. Dylan Palmer. With their help, she recovers a few of her shattered
memories, some surprising revelations such as being the daughter of a medium
and a powerful magician, and the will to face the thing that wants to claim
her for his own. Like new. There might be three Gravelight New York, Tor 1997, 1st Edition Hardcover, Unread, As New/As New. This is
a pristine, unread copy in a clear protective Brodart mylar cover.
Sinah Dellon left the mountain town of Morton's Fork as an infant, now she
has returned to find out about her past and why she has the ability to read
minds. Meanwhile, haunted by the aftermath of a drunk driving accident that
killed a young girl, Wycherly Musgrave finds himself stranded in Morton's
Fork. And researchers from the Bidney Institute descend upon the town to
study the reported hauntings and other strange occurrences. Truth Blackburn,
the heroine of Bradley's novel Ghostlight, realizes a gate to the past has
opened and it must be closed if she wants to save the man she loves. And
Sinah Dellon may be the key to the mystery.
Grabbing the covers from Amazon, I see there is a fourth in which Thorn gets
a mention.

booklet. I think this booklet is from the first few years WEAREVER was
available.
CONDITION: Very good. The cover has edge wear and small tears, light surface
damage and staining. The inside pages are firmly bound, with a light stain
at the bottom. The illustrations are crisp and clear .
SIZE: 3 1/4 x 6 in.; 12 pages .
What an interesting way to advertise your product ...
" Why Women Weep " is written as a conversation between two housewives. One
is moaning about her enamelwear pots and pans ... Food burns so badly in
them! Her neighbor tells her there is a solution for those outdated enamel
pans.
WEAREVER Aluminum cooking utensils!
In the course of their conversation, Mrs. Blackburn is told every selling
point for WEAREVER....
Food cooks better, burns less and is heated more evenly. The utensils last
for years; no replacing them every six months like enamelware.
No poisons!?! When the enamel wore off, lead and glass were often the layer
beneath in enamel ware. These could and often did get into the food!
Aluminum ware, however, had no dangerous substances to leech into the food!
A fascinating and unusual early aluminum cookware booklet.... a perfect
addition to your Wearever collection! Cook up a bid today!

ART
(12th Nov 2001)
Rather an unnecessary concept, "fictional art", nevertheless,
Nice colorful original
abstract oil on stretched linen. Influenced by the work of Wolf Kahn, this
painting depicts a park on fire with Maple trees at the peak of Autumn ,
titled "Blackburn Park, E.LaChance" on the back, and E.LaChance on lower
right corner on the front. Measures 13" x 16", painted edges make this
painting ready to hang.
(8th Dec 2001) Thomas Weaver, a follower of George Stubbs influence and James Ward had
this amazing painting exhibited in Liverpool Academy in 1814. The official
title of this is "Mr. R. Blackburn's White Trotting Horse in a Storm"!! This
is a modern print of very nice quality and comes ready for your frame in a
bevelled white matt 8 x 10.
