A beautifully-produced copy -- one of just 450 copies in existence, courtesy
of the Julian Editions -- of a rare posthumous collection of poetry by the
noted English critic and essayist -- Arthur Clutton-Brock's THE MIRACLE OF
LOVE!
These poems were discovered after Clutton-Brock's death by his wife Evelyn,
and collected and introduced by her in this very limited edition, published
in 1926. They are arranged in three sections: The Miracle of Love: A Sonnet
Sequence in Three Moods; Lyrics; and Last Poems.
Miracle of Love was the first of the collaborative series between Frederic
Warde and Stanley Morison, known as The Julian Editions of University Press,
Cambridge. It was printed on Hodgkinson handmade paper in Monotype "Barbou",
with rough-trimmed edges. The book also features buckram-backed
paper-covered boards, title gilt on spine and elaborate gilt decoration on
the spine and upper board.
